Serving: Church Style

A couple of days ago, I was having a conversation with one of my best friends and something he said struck me. He said “Krys, when it comes to love there are no absolutes”. After hearing him say that, it instantly made me realize how we often try to control people and how they love. Having expectations in relationships is cool, but we have to be very careful not to operate in a space of fear by putting unrealistic expectations on people, by dictating how they love us. We don’t even have control on how we love, let alone how anyone else loves! We try to create limitations to safeguard our hearts (so we think), in an attempt to avoid getting hurt, instead of learning people’s love languages. Love is a practice, not something that just happens. In taking time to cultivate relationships we also have to learn how people love and what it takes to love them. Remove the cookie cutter approach and listen and learn how to love.

Now on to today’s look! Church and Style has always been a struggle for me. Reason being, I never want to conform to the typical “church style” but I still want to be appropriate.

Today, in an attempt to stay warm and of course to be extremely fashionable, I paired some fun pieces with a simple black dress.

When wearing all black, two things are a must, texture and color. Vinyl has been so much fun to play with this season!! This jacket has an 80’s vibe that I absolutely love! Coupled with a pair of thigh high boots in a fun color and my look was complete!!

Hope you enjoy!
