Serving: #SelfieBeat-Product Review

If you are an avid makeup lover such as myself, you may have heard of this popular concealer, the Tarte Shape Tape Contouring Concealer. It seems as if every makeup artist, makeup lover, beauty influencer, every makeup tutorial... EVERYONE has been talking about this magic product. So of course I just had to try it!

I have very oily acne prone skin, which also consists of many areas of hyperpigmentation. So for me anything matte and full coverage works best. When I am in full drag/glam, I typically love to highlight, however on chill days I love to go for a more balanced look. Concealers are imperative to achieve both to create flawless makeup looks.

The main purpose of a concealer is to cover imperfections on the face. It's also great for highlighting, which is to bring forth the high planes of the face (the under eye area, center of the forhead, center of the nose, and the chin) usually the center of the face. Concealers are best used in no more than one to maybe two shades lighter than your natural skin tone. Depending on the look you're trying to achieve.

The Tarte Shape Tape claims to be a vegan friendly, creamy concealer for radiant coverage and contouring. It comes in 14 different shades to complement many skin tones.

On the left side of my face, is how I use the concealer when I'm in full glam. On the right is for chill days. I'm in the shade medium.

The concealer has a large doe-foot applicator for an easy and smooth application. I usually blend out all of my concealers with a beauty blender and always set it with a powder.

The formula blends out flawlessly and it dries down matte. The coverage is amazing and a little goes a long way. There's absolutely no creasing or bunching of the product and it remains smooth and matte for at least 10 hours. It's sold exclusively at Ulta Beauty or on the Tarte Website. It's a little steep at $24, but it will last you for quite some time. You get a lot of product for your coins!

Overall this is the BEST concealer in my opinion. I now understand what the hype is about. If you haven't tried it, do so! You will not be disappointed.

Hope you enjoy!!
