Usually I go all out for my birthday, it's the one time of year where I don't feel guilty celebrating me. A full week of plans and parties are usually on deck. However this year, I wanted to keep things simple; spending time with the people I love and of course eating great food.
The first leg of the celebration started on my actual birthday, March 8th, which was also International Women's Day! How appropriate! The National Museum of African American History and Culture was on the agenda for the day and man words cannot express how dope it was to finally see my culture and history displayed in such a profound way. If you haven't, check it out, IT IS A MUST!
For my look, I wanted to stand out. After the many comments I received, I believe it was achieved.
I chose to go for a simple gray body-con dress and my favorite denim jacket. Not to mention these dope lucite heeled booties.
The lighting was amazing this day, so a photo shoot had to ensue!
I cannot wait to see how "Magical" this year is for me! #Heresto32 #HBDKrys
Hope you enjoy!
