Serving: The Anatomy of a Selfie

Taking selfies is one of the best ways to capture the best moments. Whether it's you by yourself or with a group of friends, selfies are essential for social media. If you're anyone like me, getting the perfect selfie can sometimes be very annoying. However, I believe, after trial an error, I've figured out different ways to improve your selfie game.

1. Lighting :

As with any form of photography, finding the best lighting is crucial for getting the best pictures. I personally prefer natural lighting because the sun has a way of enhancing your best features. With natural light it's best to have the sunlight beaming directly on you, to get the perfect shot.
Another trick I've learned with selfies, is try using the back camera with the flash for clearer pictures. Slightly difficult but it works!

2. Find the right angle:

Angles are very important when taking selfies! If your camera isn't positioned properly it can alter the shape of your face. If your camera is too low, I find it widens your face making you look larger. In every photo it's best to show your neck. This works best from a higher angle because it elongates the neck, making you appear slimmer. It feels slightly weird, but the picture turns out flawlessly. Also, holding the camera to the side helps, because our eyes naturally roam. We tend to view things better from an angle.

3. FaceTune is your friend:
Never ever EVER believe anything that you see posted in the media. Whether it's, social media, magazines, or television everything is ALWAYS altered for the best appearance. If celebrities can do it, we can too!! FaceTune is an app that is used by many celebrities that allows you to make alterations to your photos. From smoothing out blemishes to snatching in a waist, used in moderation this app helps make amazing photos!

These are my tips and tricks for creating the perfect selfie. By no means am I photographer however, after much practice and a little research, I find that using these tips has improved my selfie game tremendously. Yours will too.

Hope you enjoy!
